The second edition of Big Bear\u2019s Ultra Trail Race took place on September 21-22, 2024, amidst the picturesque hills and mountains surrounding \u017dilina, under perfect clear skies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the main event, the BBU100+ (118 km \/ 6,300 m), J\u00e1n Virostko claimed victory, finishing ahead of fellow Slovaks Vladim\u00edr Hnoj\u010d\u00edk and Milan Kr\u00e1lik. On the women\u2019s side, defending champion Eva Marekov\u00e1 (SVK) showcased her dominance once again, securing first place. She was followed by Czech runners Kate\u0159ina Smi\u0161kov\u00e1 and Ad\u00e9la Jemel\u00edkov\u00e1, who completed the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n

The shorter ultra, BBU60+ (62 km \/ 3,500 m), welcomed its first international winners. Michal Hru\u0161ka (CZE) triumphed in the men\u2019s race, with Slovaks Miroslav Bedn\u00e1rik and Juraj Lednick\u00fd finishing in second and third, respectively. In the women\u2019s race, Kate\u0159ina Posp\u00ed\u0161ilov\u00e1 (CZE) took top honors, followed by N\u00f3ra Juh\u00e1sz (HUN) and Tatiana Rakytov\u00e1 (SVK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the BBU20 (20 km), Pavol Orol\u00edn (SVK) claimed the men\u2019s title, while Vikt\u00f3ria Nyikos (HUN) won the women\u2019s race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fiercely competitive BBU RELAY (118 km \/ 6,300 m), featuring four-member teams, was won by Team Ultroni, led by last year\u2019s BBU100+ champion, Adam Drga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
